The Mispireta Family Foundation

The Trust Agreement for creating the foundation between Luis A. Mispireta MD, and the Trustees Luis A. Mispireta and his wife, Martha L. Mispireta, was signed on the 1st of April 2005. It was created for charitable purpose and to be known as the Mispireta Family Foundation.

The Foundation original purpose, which is still present, is to be used for charitable activities to stimulate and facilitate the care of the communities in which Luis A. Mispireta, MD, was educated and practiced throughout his professional life. These include the Universidad and Medical School Cayetano Heredia and the Health Organization of MED STAR, including the hospitals in Washington, DC, and Baltimore.

The initial procedure for achieving the stated original purposes is to create a Grant at each of the two institutions mentioned above, allowing a Prize of $5000.00 US Dollars yearly for the best research paper entered for the treatment of Cardiovascular diseases, whether preventive, medical, surgical, or nutritional.

We believe that this initiative will foster the development of better professionals dedicated to serving these communities.

Other avenues of fulfilling our mission include the publication of books authored by Dr. Mispireta. The Foundation serves as the publisher, and all proceeds from the sales contribute to our charitable activities. These publications are focused on aiding the control of the current Obesity Epidemic.

Additional initiatives will be developed as Trustees and Advisory Board members identify future opportunities to better serve our mission.

The Trustees of the Foundation are DR. Luis A. Mispireta and his wife, Martha L. Mispireta, The Advisory Board includes their daughters: Martha P. Shannon, Claudia L. Hinsch, and Mariella A. While-Dart.
